The day before Thanksgiving I went to Fort Worth to take the boys to the movie so Tammie and Aunt Kristi make pies for Thanksgiving. I had so much fun with the boys. Mary had a great time, and so did Justin. The boys are so funny. We saw the movie Bolt, and it is really a good movie. Thank you Scott and Tammie for letting me spend the day with your precious little boys.

Playoff #2 Carthage

Justin playing the bass drum.

Our band playing at halftime.

Justin is playing a cymbal.

Justin is getting ready to go on the field.

Our Cheerleaders and Spot. This is pretty much what our Cheerleaders do during the games.

Our team on the field. We are on defense on this play.

We got our butts kicked tonight at the game. We had to drive all the way to Mansfield and sit in the cold to watch Lorena lose 49/14. At least we didn't get shut out. Carthage was waaaay better than us, and during the 1st half, our team played like the Detroit Lions, and during the 2nd half tried to play but it was too late. Justin played cymbals on the field and the bass drum in the stands. He was so proud of himself. I will post pictures as soon as I get Homer to put them in the computer. So now football is over, and now the holidays. Thanksgiving is next week, I will post pictures of my table and dinner. Homer's parents, Bonnie, Dena and her family are coming. I am so excited. The next Saturday Justin will be playing in the Lorena Holiday Parade. I will take pictures of that and post those.

Accapella

On Sunday, 11/16, Justin, Mary & I went to College Station to the A & M Church of Christ to see the best concert. Accapella. They ROCKED!!!! They were so good, and it was worth the trip. Stupid me forgot the camera. Figures. But it was great. They did a lot of older stuff and some new stuff. I got a new CD, and I love it. Justin put the songs I liked best on the ipod. Justin saw that they are going to be at Saginaw, November of next year. Can't wait to see them again. Maybe I will take the camera for that one.

Play off #1

Way to go Leopards!!!! We beat Palestine Westwood 24/14. There were some kids from Robinson, but they didn't have very good sportsmanship. They made some of the football moms mad and eventually they got escorted to the other side because they were rooting against Lorena. We play Carthage in Mansfield on Friday. GO LEOPARDS GO!!!!

Cheaper by the Dozen

Ha Ha Justin's in an apron.

This is Justin's first theatrical debut. This performance was on Tuesday night November 11th. It was a great performance. The kids really did a great job. It was comical and also dramatic.
Justin had several lines, and is suppose to sing a song in German. He said he gets stage fright and forgets the words.

La Vega Game

We went to La Vega and play with a passion and won 20/13. I didn't get to go because I was high on pain medicine because I had some dental surgery and was not able to drive. Since we won this game we go to the playoffs. We are 3rd in the district. (Still don't know how that happened.) We have had a great year.

We play Palestine Westwood on November 13th. Way to go Leopards!!!!!

Robinson Game

Mary is playing on the field at halftime with the band.
They played Barbara Ann. This was alumni night.

This is our mascot Spot

Justin and Will before the game started.

Justin before the game.
We played Robinson on Halloween. We got creamed. 38/12. I don't know what happened with this game. Tyler Stewart our Quarterback threw several interceptions that ended up with scores. Robinson didn't do very well this year and they beat us. Still trying to figure that one out. Next week La Vaga.

Mexia Game

Okay, well, Lorena Leopards were not up to par this week. They got creamed by Mexia 49/28. I didn't get to go, because, well, Justin still can not play. Hopefully, he will next week. We play Robinson on 10/31. Our last home game. This is senior night, and alumni will play on the field. They will play Barbara Ann. Mary will be playing on the field, and I will get lots of pictures of this game.

Also please pray for the Swift family. Ron's mother has cancer and is not doing very well. This lady is a really neat person, and I know her time is limited. Also please pray for the Bogan family. Jane's father passed away in Ohio, and they are traveling.

As soon as I find out how the band did in Georgetown, I will post it. If they get ones, they will go to state.

Grosbeck Game

The Lorena Leopards have done it again. We won 41/32. Way to go Leopards!!!!!! We are 5/2. We play Mexia next week. AWESOME!!!! UIL is in Waco, but Justin won't participate. His grades are coming up, he is struggling a little, but it is going okay. When I find out how the band does tomorrow, I will post the results.

Kyle Competition

Our band competed in Kyle, Texas and got 1st place in all catagories. The color guard got 1st place, the band got 1st place and the drum line, of course, got 1st place. The Lorena Leopard Band ROCKS!!!! We play Groesbeck this Friday and the UIL competition in Waco on Saturday. Justin won't play because he is still on suspension until the last week of October.

LORENA LEOPARDS ROCK!!!!!!

Connally Game

Lorena played Connally this week and won 56 to 35. Yea!!!Way to go Leopards!!!! We are 4/2. We didn't go because as mentioned before, Justin is banned from playing in the band for 3 weeks. He is working to get his grades back to where they are suppose to be. No pictures this week. Will post competion results from Kyle as soon as I find out. Sorry no Pictures.

Cody

Here is another picture of my baby Cody. He is such a sweet puppy.

COMPETITION IN AUSTIN

Our band competed in Austin today, and the band and the color guard got 2nd place. We got Jacked!!!!! The group that got 3rd should have gotten 2nd, and we should have gotten 1st, and the team who one 1st should have gotten 3rd. Their show was not as good as ours and theirs was a little boring. The group that got 3rd, were better than the 1st place band by far. They had big props and utilized them well in their show. Our percussion (aka drum line & pit) got 1st place. Our percussion ROCKS!!!!!! Our theme this year is TRAX. It deals with trains and such. Granted it isn't as good of a show as last years, but the kids do really good. Also, our band was listed as one of the bands of the week on KCEN channel 6. If you go to the web sight and click on sports and then Friday Night Lights, you can vote on which band you like. The band that gets the most votes at the end of the season gets a $500 check donated to their school. Please vote for Lorena. We need all the votes we can get. We are dubbed the little school that could.

HOMECOMING 2008

JUSTIN AND MARY WITH THEIR MUMS. I MADE MARY'S.

HERE IS A BETTER PICTURE OF THEIR MUMS. TONI GOT IN THE PICTURE ALSO.

JUSTIN'S FRIEND JACOB AND HOLLY.

Our band played their show before the game since during halftime they crowned the new Homecoming Queen. One of Justin's friends Morgan Maddox got it. She works with Mary.
The Lorena Leopards won the game 16-14. It was a great game and it is always nice to win Homecoming. We are 3/2 now. We play in Connally next week. ROCK ON LEOPARDS!!!!

Cody

Here is my pretty puppy Cody. He is my baby and I wanted to put him on the blog.

Drumline Competition

Here our drum line competed at Plano Drum Line Competition and won 1st place against 4A & 5A schools. We had 2 students win 1st and 2nd place in solo snare competition. The pride of the Leopards is a great band. We start 4 weeks of band competitions this Saturday.

Hillsboro Game

Here is our band playing at Hillsboro. We did a great job there. Mom, Dad, and Dom came to the game from Fort Worth. The band had the prop there so we could not see anything over the background prop. Dom and Mary went to the other side of the field to get the pictures. Dom seemed really impressed with our band. We are the little school that could. We took the lead and held it until the end of the 3rd quarter. The Eagles came back and won the game 31 to 27. Better luck next week. Next week is Homecoming.
